Model: EAP245
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 2.3.0 Build 20190731 Rel. 51932(4555)
Hi,
everytime my access point has no power it causes connection problems for round about 1 day. If Im trying to connect to the eap245, the client (different smartphones) requests an ip address and prompts no internet connect.
Im using a fritzbox 7430 with dhcp and 2 EAP245. If one of the eap245 lost the power, it has the problem like described below. The another one is still working fine.

---------------
(German Version)
Hi,

Ideen?

@dieFeder

Hello

I have personally not experienced this before, however, I do notice that you are running an older version of the Firmware (2.3.0), the latest version is 5.0.3 which is considerably newer.

I would recommend you try a firmware upgrade as this issue may have been addressed/rectified in a later firmware.

@dieFeder Is there any VLAN settings or other advanced wireless settings you've done? I did not see the same issue on my side. My suggestion is to replace the site of your two EAPs, so you can test if the issue comes from one specify AP. Hardware issue can enjoy tp-link lifetime warranty in many countries.

2.3.0 was the latest release I found. However, I will the firmware releases on detail one more and report it.

Ok, i installed the latest firmware.

1 fo 2 access points seem to have no problems anymore. I tested to switch off and on, I also put at any other network port - it still works. One problem solved.

I started to care about the 2nd one.:

  • Connection via LAN was established. I updated the firmware, checked the config - everything seemed fine. So I put to another network port (where the access point should actually be) and I have the old problem - I can get no internet connection. But this time my client (smartphone) says it didn't received the right ip address.
  • So, connected via LAN again. DHCP is active, fallback ip is 192.168.0.254. Though im using 192.168.1.* subnet, as far as i know it should make any problem. Although I tried to get work with static ip adress. So I turned static on (subnet 192.168.255.255, gateway and dns 192.168.1.1). Afterwards I couldn't connect to the ap via LAN anymore.
  • But now I'm able to connect via WLAN and I also have access to internet. If sent a ping to 192.168.1.11 I receive an answer. But calling the web interface via browser (192.168.1.11) doesn't work.
  • Once again I put the ap to the target destination and again I got problems to get a working ip adress.

Summary

  • Configuration via web interface not possible anymore. I'm kind of locked out.
  • Using ap on the target location causes problems with getting the right ip adress.
  • Using ap another location works fine. I have access to internet.
