While I have given up waiting and moved on to something else, I though I would pass along an update I got in an email from TPLink
the same TPLink rep that told me three months ago that the release date would
be May/June has now told me that it will be delayed by another two to three months .
Since this is an outdoor AP, releasing it at the end of summer / beginning of fall pretty much misses the point of installing an outside AP.
By next spring, the other vendor will have WIFI-6 E products out.
This isn't a buy on impulse novelty consumer product . It is a business product. Businesses have to have solid plans in place before they budget for and implement them . Plans can not be made around something with such a fuzzy release date .

@Rickk10000 I am not trying absolve TP link here from blame but just to say that given the port closures and other stuff going on in China, these delays seem expected.
You can go to another manufactures site and see that pretty every product is out of stock.

They first announced this thing 18 months ago.
They are using a picture of it like it's the flagship of their fleet.

@btx I am in discussion with the vendor (Wifi-Stock dot com) I mentioned asking what the difference between the versions would be other than the power plug; I can power via PoE. Perhaps this group knows the differences. I'm not gonna lie I'm more of a newbie so without asking I wouldn't know the nitty gritty details whether any other differences would matter. I'm looking to replace the Omada EAP225-outdoor in my backyard and as many Americans I don't like waiting .
