Unscheduled Automatic Power Save Delivery not working as it should?!
Unscheduled Automatic Power Save Delivery not working as it should?!
Hi,
just found out, that when I enable U-APSD within Omada Controller for my APs (EAP660 HD), that it looks like, it doesn't work at all?
If I click on my devices, it 'always' says: disabled. (see screenshot).
When I try U-APSD within a UniFi Network it does work with the same devices without a problem.
So what going wrong over here? Only the Omada controller is showing it wrong, or is there any bug within actual AP and/or Controller Firmware?

Dear @Spryde,
Sorry for the delayed response. It takes some time to confirm the information with the R&D team.

Did a Wireshark on one of my SSIDs where U-APSD is activated (it's activated with all SSIDs) and also Wireshark says, that 'not implemented'.
See screenshot.
So what does it mean? Does U-APSD really doesn't work at all... Is the Controller setting broken, or am I wrong?
Would be nice to get a feedback.
To confirm whether the U-APSD is enabled on the EAP or not, we can tell by the VALUE of the U-APSD Field in the QoS Info Field of the WMM Information Element in the beacon. As the image below shown, the value of U-APSD is 1, which means the U-APSD is enabled.
The Power Save state on the Omada Controller refers to whether the connected client is in power saving mode, when the client enters the power saving mode, it is enabled, and when the client wakes up from the power saving mode, it is disabled.
Edit: The Power Save state is not static.
During a connection, the client will set the network card to power saving mode multiple times to save power, so the client may repeatedly enter the Power Save state for a short period of time. Besides, the power save state on the controller doesn't reflect the current state of the client since the info is not refreshed for real-time.

@Spryde see this post: https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/508758?replyId=1014628
I had the same after upgrading until I switched the EAP off and on again. Reboot did not help, had to pull the plug.

Thx for the help and the feedback.
Especially @Mortensen
The full power cycle of the EAP did solve the issue.
Sorry, that I didn't find it at the forums. Didn't found it.
Thx.

I have to say, that it isn't consistent. So after a time all the power saving stops to work. Maybe it needs again a power cycle?
@Fae Are there any news in upcoming Controller versions where the problem/bug will be solved?

I have same problem, no working Unscheduled Automatic Power Save Delivery on EAP660HD and EAP620HD
AI roam is disabled.
Controller Version:5.2.4 on Ubuntu
EAP Version:
EAP660HDv1 1.1.1 Build 20220209 Rel. 63536
EAP620HDv1 1.1.1 Build 20220224 Rel. 53971
And I also have roam problem, slow roam and even disconnect when roam between ap, this was not an issue with EAP245v3 EAP225-Outdoor.
Every EAP is on Beta, maybe there is time to give a nonbeta update to access point soon,
Now it seems like EAP6xxx is unfinished and in development, I bought EAP660HD almost 1.5 years ago and it has not happened much in this time.
Beta is good, but then there should be an official version after a short time.

I read one place that it could solve the problem, I have tried with and without but there is no difference. I don't think AI roam work on WiFi 6 EAP anyway.

Yes just noticed the same here. No devices are showing power save anymore. And this time a power cycle did not help. Hope it get fixed.
