EAP 225 Constantly disconnecting and dropping clients
EAP 225 Constantly disconnecting and dropping clients
Hi! So I have a small network setup at my church. its using two eap ap's; an eap115 and an eap225. There isn't any real need for advanced setting as they are mainly being used directly as access points. Now my issue is that the eap225 which is the "main one"(the eap 115 is used in the office area) constantly 'drops' clients(all of them that are connected at the time) and disconnects from the controller. It automatically reconnects to the controller anywhere from 30 seconds to 30 minutes later.
Now this issue didn't start happening until; 1. i started using the software controller and 2. when i upgraded the firmware to 5.0.7.
I've tried numerous 'solutions' that I've seen on the forums such as checking the airtime fairness settings and some other settings but none of them have worked. in a last ditch attempt I've fully uninstalled the controller and i am currently managing both eaps using the android app. However this made no difference and the eap225 is still dropping clients and if they're not dropped they lose internet connectivity and you have to turn the wifi off then back on to have them connect again.
Do you guys have any advice for me or things I can do to fix this issue. Also i'm planning to reinstall the soft controller on a laptop that i can have running 24/7.

Hi, okay understood, i'll see to getting a oc200 and a switch in the near future hopefully within the month.
Also can you tell me the advantage of an integrated switch versus the regular one? Thanks

The integrated one (TL-SG2008P) will appear as a device in the controller and therefore you can apply VLANs, Access Controls etc to the device via the controller. Each port will be configurable as you need, It also records stats to the controller
Un-managed versions TL-SG1008 won't offer any of this, it will just provide POE and work as a regular switch. The controller won't be aware of it..
