Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hi,

Currently we have a BT Business broadband solution, using a couple of Deco M5 to create a mesh for guests / visitors.

I need to expand the range on this network around an old stone building, and I would also like to have a landing page for guest users. Is this possible with the current hardware or are better TP link solutions available?

Many thanks in advance.

M.A.

Hey

A landing page as you mention is known as 'Portal Authentication', basically when someone connects to the WiFi there are prompted with a portal of some description that you can customise to suit your business.

Sadly this not available under the Deco range and you would need to look at a TP Link Omada setup.  The portal is controlled / hosted on the Controller (software or hardware) and this can be set to a specific SSID (example GUEST WIRELESS).

There are a number of methods for Portal authentication, Facebook, PIN Code, Password, OPEN etc etc which you can configure.   At minimum you would need an EAP and a controller, something like the EAP225/EAP610 and OC200 should suffice for your needs.
