@Fae

I hope tp-link support notices this as there are many same instances happening to different users with similar setup.

Other than this thread, there are similar reports out there to this one.

It usually occurs 3weeks (20-21 days) of uptime, router gets disconnected/readopted, rebooting the router fixes it, 21 days later it happens again..

Schedule rebooting is a work around and should not be a long term solution.

Dear @pjangeles and other community members,

I noticed the ER605 v1 disconnection issue reported in the community, it has been reported to the support engineer for further investigation but it seems that the reproduce period is a bit long. The engineer may need to collect some detailed information exactly when the issue occurs to figure out the issue, if you are willing to try further troubleshooting with our engineer via email directly, please feel free to let me know and I'd help to escalate your case. Hope the support engineer can find a clue and address the issue soon.

Just to add I'm getting the same with ER605 v2.0 - 2.0.1 firmware.

Every now and again its just dropping. The only way to fix is to restart the entire network. The logs dont show anything obvious.

I have the same issue. Last week I bought ER605 v2, OC200, EAP650 x3 and multiple managed Poe switches as I had heard good things about the Omada ecosystem and because I needed to upgrade my network.

I've had no end of problems. Yes all have been upgraded to the latest firmware. First I have this large ping attack thing spamming the OC200 logs, there is apparently no firmware, not even beta for the ER605v2 to stop these from spamming the logs or showing me the IP address (I understand it will be iPhones) and I also have these random WAN disconnects, sometimes every 10 minutes. Worse of all is there are no logs anywhere to tell me why this is happening. The cable modem is absolutely fine as I've been monitoring that from that side, and there's no dsl outages.  I've opened ssh and logged into the various devices and can find no clue why things are disconnecting seemingly randomly

I've worked in networking for 30 years, this thing seems to be far from ready. If I can't get this sorted in the next week or so I'm returning the whole lot while I still can. Very very disappointed.

  @Fae

Hello,

Similar issue here.

I've been running a self-hosted Omada SDN on linux and a r605v1 (plus some switches and eaps) for years in a "prosumer-style" setup (20+ vlans, 10+ interfaces, some NAT).

This appeared to be stable and reliable with the latest R605v1 firmware and recent Omada SDN releases.

I few days ago, I upgraded from r605v1 to r605v2 ; in other words, nothing changed except the gateway.

Since, the setup is unstable and the r605v2 seems to "hang" on a regular basis.

In my setup, the r605 sits between the Omada SDN and the devices.

Thus, whenever the r605 stops forwarding, all devices appear as disconnected.

Since December 9th, r605v2 "hanged" on 9th, 10th and 13th.

Cold restart (power off power on) solves the issue.

Looking at the gateway stats on the Omada SDN, one can notice the CPU is slowly increasing ; which makes no sense as it should drop during non-working hours.

May indicate some software bug in the gateway such as stacking processes, zombies, infinite loops.

As of now, did not have time to invesgate more.

The only thing I can say is :

- The r605v2 seems to stop forwarding on all interfaces.

- Connected PCs lose their IP addresses.

Regards.

  @caramb

A few minutes after posting, the r605v2 hanged again.

I tried to gather so more info :

- Before the issue, I tried to enable the SSH service ; then ssh the gateway. I guess without guidance from the support team, there is nothing interesting I can do. Cannot check the processes as I'm not root, cannot check memory.

- When the issue occured : I sniffed network traffic : The gateway does not transmit any frame ; does not answer ARP request ; thus of course does not ping.

- When the issue occurs, the system led still blinks once a second ; I guess this means the r605v2 kernel still runs thus preventing the (supposed) hardware watchdog to reset the box.

  @caramb did you happen to notice the blinking light on the er605 stops flashing? I have noticed this when it stops communicating.

if tplink support would work with us to fix this issue it would be helpful. I'm happy to run debug or follow some instruction to get logs off the device. I have logged in via ssh but logs are very limited as it is within a busybox jail. I could not find anything relevant.

  @amelluk

Hello amelluk,

The last time the problem occured, I did check and the light was still blinking as usual.

I will check the next times and let you know.

Regards.
