Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V6
Firmware Version:

Hi, i want to buy TP-Link ER605 for the following Load Balancing. So, please tell me if the following Config can be done. also i am not so good with networking yet.

i have 2 ISP (Lets call them ISP1 and ISP2).

Create 2 VLan(VLan1 = Work Only and VLan2 = Home, Guests, neighbors, etc). Work Systems should have High availability

My Question is, can this config happen

VLan1 connect to 1) ISP1 as Primary internet and 2) ISP2 as failover and load balance.

VLan2 connect to ISP2 Only. Should not connect to ISP1. So, that Work Systems should not be disturbed

2nd Question,  Can a specific Website to always prefer ISP1 and ISP2 as Failover Only.

  @Shailesh_M

I assume you will be using the Er605 in standalone mode, and not as part of an Omada SDN solution?

  @Shailesh_M

I don't use my ER605's in standalone mode, but if Failover mode for the two WANs is good enough for Work users, then have a look at Sections 7.2 and 7.4 in the user guide here:

https://static.tp-link.com/upload/manual/2022/202203/20220331/1910013180_ER605&ER7206(UN)_UG.pdf

The trick is to use Policy Routing.

  @Shailesh_M The 1st requirement is not possible if you also wants 2nd requirement. Under my test, if you setup Link Backup, the backup WAN cannot use until the router detect primary WAN offline and switch to backup WAN.

But if you don't use Linkbackup and active the two WAN ports together, yes you can reach 2nd requirement with Policy Routing.

  thanks @Somnus for the reply

So, following senario will work in right ?

VLan1 connect to 1) ISP1 as Primary internet and 2) ISP2 as failover and load balance.

VLan2 connect to ISP2 Only. Should not connect to ISP1. So, that Work Systems should not be disturbed.
