Model: EAP225-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 5.0.5

OC200 v1 5.1.7, fast roam not enabled, nor band steering at this time

ER605+SG2008P if it matters

My logs are filling up endlessly, because typically 1 client at a time, and usually only ever 2 of the ~15 or so will switch back and forth between 2 APs, the only two it can see.  A second device right next to the one that's flip-flopping is staying stable on 1 AP. Both AP are identical 225-outdoors running same firmware.  Signal strengths at the site of flip-flopping are reasonable ~ -70dbm ...as in no reason to switch.

This graph was taken from the Android phone highlighted in the below logs (unedited, no ether events were excluded):

any idea what's going on and how to fix this needless behaviour?  Would enabling fast-roaming help or make it worse?

I don't want to reduce power on either AP as they both need what they have to cover the outdoor perimeter.

  @d0ugmac1

you may want to consider enabling Mini Rssi so once the client hits a certain signal threshold, they get booted.  Then the client will be forced to roam and stay with that AP.

Fast Roaming will only help the transition between AP.  It will not help with keeping a client locked onto an AP.

I can't leverage min RSSI, the signal is strong from both at the location where flapping is occurring, but weak at the perimeter where I still require the device to connect. A better feature would have been "only roam if delta is > XdBM"

Turn down the power on those APs and add another one? That may be your only option at this point. Have all those APs in that area on low.

Also already stated I cannot afford to turn down power on either one as they need full power to reach the perimeter of the required coverage zone. I actually had a third AP in the mix (EAP235-wall) but the issue was worse and I've since removed it since the two outdoor APs cover indoors just fine...maybe too well, but that isn't an issue for most clients.

  @d0ugmac1 well, if one looks for simple solution then stop thinking in complex way. I assume device causing troubles is fixed and never moves, if that is the case, create second ssid (probably hidden) and enable that ssid only on device which you would like to lock device causing issue to and do not enable this ssid on any other AP.

Simple, isnt it? And you do not need to buy another device or reduce power, you can even raise it if you need.

Hope that simplistic solution helps you.
