I get very intermittent and flaky VPN connectivity to the ER605 from remote devices over both L2TP and PPTP, sometimes they refuse to even see the server is running, and system logs on the ER605 seem to indicate no connection attempts were received. Other times they will connect but there is no traffic over the VPN.  I am using the built in VPN functionality of the ER605, without any DMZ or port redirects active on the router or network.

Flashing back to 1.2.0 stable from January resolves this immediately with no changes whatsoever on the remote devices, but i lose the DHCP and Stealth fixes.

Note - this did not happen on the very first 1.1.1 beta that had the stealth fix

I would like to thank Wayne at TP-Link technical support. 

We had a lengthy and in-depth remote support session regarding my problem.  He was very knowledgeable and was happy for me to take the time to show him the problem in its various forms.  

I will continue to monitor with the changed configuration of my ER605 and let him know, and will be interested to hear back about their internal analysis of the issue.
