I am looking to purchase 2 x ER605 routers for use where we have two sites and a number of remote home workers.  The description says "Supports up to 20x LAN-to-LAN IPsec, 16x OpenVPN*, 16x L2TP, and 16x PPTP VPN connections" does this mean that i could have 16 of users each 16x OpenVPN*, 16x L2TP, and 16x PPTP VPN connections all connected at the same time or is it restricted to a total of 16 concurrent VPN connections?  Does anyone know the definitive answer?  I have had conflicting advice from different sources.

TIA

Your question jogged my memory from earlier.
I once asked the same question and received the following answer:

As for OpenVPN: ER605 has 4 WAN ports, each port work as a VPN Server can connect with up to 10 VPN clients. ER605 can work as a VPN client and can connect with up to 10 VPN servers. But limited by hardware performance, the total tunnels are 16.

As for PPTP/L2TP: PPTP and L2TP share 32 tunnels. The sum of tunnels of PPTP/L2TP VPN Server and client can not exceed 32.

As for IPsec VPN: There is no limit on the single WAN port. Just make sure the total tunnels don't exceed 20.

Hello, one more note. All omada routers are not the best VPN devices at all. Maybe your setup will work flawlessly but there is a big chance that it will not. I have several problems with VPN and shberge as well. They are described on this forum. Take this to your consideration. I will advice to buy when you have time to try it and return if you have issues.

If you're looking at that many users and tunnels... I would go for the 7206 over the 605.
