I have a bad ISP router that I am about to replace with ER605. The old router has IP address 192.168.1.1 and I have many clients, 15-20 of them with fixed IP addresses that I don't want to change.

As I already have a Omada AP (EAP653) it would be convenient to use the Omada Controller SW in my desktop PC for configuration and maintenance.

The problem is the default IP address of the ER605, 192.168.0.1. In order to work in my old network it need to be 192.168.1.1.

I came so far that the Omada Controller recognizes the EAP653, with corredct old IP, and the ER605 with its default address, but I can't change it.

How do I proceed?

  @Borjebus

You can just connect a PC to router with an Ethernet cable like this: Router----PC.
Then set a static IP address like 192.168.0.10 on this PC.
And try to ping router's default IP address 192.168.0.1.

How to set static IP address
How to ping

If you can Ping this IP address successfully, use 192.168.0.1 to log into the router's management page.
And now you can change the setting as you want.

  @Virgo Yes, I  was able to ping the "new" IP address. Unfortunately I have forgotten the login :(. I tried the Reset button in the front, but it didn't help.

How can I get the unit back to Factory default?

By pressing the reset button a little longe I managed to get it back to factory settings and set a new login. Today the Omada Controller has adopted my two devices and taken control. Now it's up to me to learn how the Controller works.
