Using the tplink eap225-outdoor with unifi UMA-D antenna ?
Hello! I am wondering if anyone has tested using the tplink eap225-outdoor with Unifi UMA-D antenna. Do you know I currently use the UAP-AC-M from UniFi with their UMA-D antenna, but as the UAP-AC-M is out of stock everywhere, I was hoping I could switch to using the TP-Link EAP225-Outdoor with that same antenna. Alternatively, do you have a recommendation for a unidirectional antenna for the tplink that could help me obtain better throughput at a distance (in one direction)? Thanks a lot! Steph

If you are after a better distance, then honestly the CPE510 would be a better option for you vs the EAP225
You can place as big or directional an antenna you want on the EAP225 and sadly it will be limited by the power of the radio inside. The CPE is perfectly built for that and works over KMs, just remember the clients also need to be able to reply so that will be your distance limiting factor!

EAP225-Outdoor's antenna is good enough for 100-200m range. The transmit power of the EAP cannot handle more

Happy days!
Just curious, what sort of distances are you getting with the increased antenna? Im going to guess 150m :)

@Philbert We have a very unique context in which this isn't outdoors, it's within a warehouse with floor-to-ceiling metal shelving units. Our concern was getting very good bandwidth at a distance of up to 45m, and that's what we achieve. Wifi signal is above 90% even at 45m and behind the shelves. We can't measure any further, we'd have to go through a wall...

Ah yes, I know exactly your setup! I had a warehouse to do once that had floor to ceiling racks and similiar to you was easy enough to get coverage. I actually went down from centre top middle using standard HD AP
