DHCP failing with Linux 5.8.4 and er605 2.1.1

I upgraded my Linux software controller to 5.8.4 (from 5.7.4)
I am already running 2.1.1 on my er605.
After upgrading the software controller, a number of my devices started to get DHCP addresses outside the DHCP address range I had defined (I use a 192.168.86.x subnet, and 10 of my devices inexplicably got 192.168.12.x addresses). I was forced to roll back the controller.

Do you mean that the DHCP works as expected when running 2.1.1 on ER605 after you roll back to controller 5.7.4?

@Fae I figured out what happened.
I have a dual wan system (the second wan is on wan1 of the er605) , and somewhere during the upgrade, IP addresses from the secondary wan's DHCP server started to appear on the LAN.
I don't know why. After rolling back, I disconnected the secondary wan reconnected all of the clients which had gotten addresses from the secondary wan, and all appeared to work after that (after the rollback, on 5.7.4 Linux software controller)

Glad to hear that you've figured out the problem. But could you please try to elaborate on that IP addresses from the secondary wan's DHCP server started to appear on the LAN? How did you find the issue? Just trying to understand what happened.

Here is what appears to have happens.
I was already running 2.1.1 on my ER605.
The ER605 had a primary PPPOE WAN, and a secondary 5G WAN. The secondary 5G WAN serves DHCP addresses in 192.168.12.x (the only thing that should mean is that WAN1 on my ER605 get a 192.168.12.x address. Until the upgrade, I never saw 192.168.12.x addresses on my LAN).
My LAN runs on 192.168.86.x
When I the linux controller from 5.7.4 to 5.8.4, I suddenly saw about 10 devices (out of 50 on the network) getting 192.168.12.x addresses. the rest of the network get 192.168.86.x addresses.
This wreaked havoc, of course (some of the 12.x addresses were assigned to devices that had DHCP reservations in the .86.x range).
I eventually concluded that for some period of time, the DHCP server on WAN1 must have been assigning addresses on the LAN, which is not correct.
To correct this, I did the following:
1. restored 5.7.4
2. disabled WAN1, and physically disconnected it
3. reconnected all of the devices which had gotten .12.x addresses - at this point, they all got the correct .86.x addresses
4. installed 5.8.4 again - all devices still have the correct addresses
5. enabled WAN1
6. physically reconnected WAN1
This worked!
