When to upgrade the old version of ER605 v1 to use "Full mode for OpenVPN"
When to upgrade the old version of ER605 v1 to use "Full mode for OpenVPN"
It is already known that there is an updated firmware version for er605 v2, but the update speed of the old version v1 is very slow, which cannot meet the needs of commercial use, and the official cannot provide when it will be updated, so whether it is necessary to be more careful when selecting tp-link products rigorous! Can you tell me when you can update the new firmware so that the old version can use the new functions you need!
expected reply date
Thanks in advance,
Best regards,

Hello @unhappycust0mer
Thank you for your valuable feedback. It has been reported to the developer team for confirmation. The missing Full mode issue will be fixed in the official firmware of ER605 V1.

Dear @victor.feng ,
Sorry for any trouble caused!
I haven't been informed of the ETA of the new firmware for ER605 V1 yet, but further research and development on it is on the way and it has been expedited. And I will also try to push the R&D team to release the firmware shortly.
If you need any further assistance with the TP-Link products, please feel free to start a thread on the community or submit a ticket email to our technical support team from here.

Hello,
mDNS is of the stuffs we are waitng for (ER605 V1.x).
Do your engineers are working on it, or there is no reliable info about it?
I am on the verge to buy a new router that support mDNS...
Thanks

@Hank21 This situation with the ER605 V1 is unacceptable. A bunch of us are the proud owners of a "business router" with less capability than a low budget home router. After this whole ordeal I will NEVER put another $$ into tp-link products again. I've been patiently waiting for an update I'm beginning.to suspect is vaporware but if nothing comes out in the next few weeks I'll plug in my old home router and call it good. The Omada ecosystem so far has not been what was promised. Very disappointed.

@Hank21 can we start a thread to get a refund on the useless V1 hardware?

@IsaacGoldstein Here's how it goes every time:
1. An update is promised.
2. v2 gets the update
3. refer to step 1.
TP-Link has abandoned the v1 owners, which is sad because v1 hardware is still on the market. They have no intent to support this going forward based on their actions and not their words. It's time to let this piece of scrap metal go. Never again.

Dear @unhappycust0mer ,
Sorry for any trouble caused.
We're sorry we don't have an exact date of release, the software release need be rigorously tested before it is released, the final test results will affect the final release of the software. We hope that you will be able to use the new firmware as soon as possible, but this will take some time and ER605 V1 firmware will eventually be released, so please be patient.

@Hank21 another empty promise. This has been the company line for months yet your other router just keeps getting updates.

2 days ago, they pushed a new beta v1.2.3 for ER605 V1
There are some new features.
I installed it (beta version), it does not change very much.
I use the standalone mode (i don't like the unified OMADA Controller, it is too complicated for me).
For me TP-Link is a pretty big company, they should have enough resources to make some better Software Design.
You have a lot good hardwares, but the firmwares/softwares are very below to the actual standard (too much missing features).
Take the example from Synology, they have great firmwares for each of their devices...

@victor.feng any news yet? New firmware with full mode is coming or still isn't exist? Can someone send me a closed beta firmware for testing?

@phongtom the new beta has a "full mode" listed for openvpn server but so far it doesn't actually work.
