  @Philbert If I get this working, the ethernet cable from the 710 will connect to a router inside the cabin. Should I configure this as a Router or an Access Point?

Its really up to you to be honest, either would work..   However if it was my choice, I would set this into Access Point mode, that way its pulling a DHCP from the main house and over the 610/710 link

Otherwise if its giving out a second DHCP (router mode) on a different subnet it can make things more awkward to determine should you encounter an issue.

Hey

You need to configure this via the LAN first, basically connect it to a switch and remote into the IP it gets.

From the web-GUI run the wizard and select CLIENT when asked what operation mode.   It will then ask you to select an SSID to connect too, choose the one you have going at present and enter the password.

The CPE will then join the network as if its a client device (laptop, desktop, phone) and will appear in the controller/logs as its MAC address.    Then position it where you need it and plug the LAN port into a switch.   Traffic should go through it into the switch

How far you get into this?   Stick and update with pictures if you can

  @DBShelton I think that is what I did but I may just reset both devices and start over again.

Thanks for the help

I ended up connecting the EAP-610 to a Wavlink WIFI Extender for now.

Attached a picture of what all I am working with

  @DBShelton BTW this is my first try in networking. A family owned vacation place with Fiber coming in to Dining Hall, signals going to Big House from EAP-610, and signal going to 3 cabins by way of CPE-710. Still having a few problems.

  @DBShelton what exactly didn't work? I have used one CPE710 in several locations to connect to an existing Wi-Fi network to do exactly what you are attempting. I have two setups that have been in place for 2 years now and they have never failed.

The only issue noted is during setup is the AP that I was connecting to had to be manually set to 161. If left on auto it was selecting a channel not compatible with the CPE710 so it never showed up in the CPE710 list of available networks to join.

  @DBShelton

After a storm with the power off for almost a week, I have lost the link from CPE-710 to CPE-710 and also the link from EAP-610 to Wavlink AC1200. Took all 4 pieces down and took them home to see what the problem is. Maybe I need to start from scratch and reconfigure everything.

  @RickJamesBish

I never got a CPE-710 to connect to and receive a signal from the EAP-610 so I ended up using the Wavlink AC1200 to receive the signal but now that doesn't work. I am in way over my head
