Hey guys,

 

I want to update the firmware of my 2x EAP225 Outdoor controller.

When i access the website it tells me i managed them via Omada Controller, so i cant access through the website. (only when i want to use them as standalone which i dont want)

 

I have downloaded the Omada Controller but instead of login it looks like i have to setup the whole thing again.

 

Is there a way to update both controller without the new setup?

 

It was already a hassle for me to set it up once, i am happy that it works and i am afraid that i break something just to update the firmware of them.


Is it okay to live with outdated firmware or should I reset and start from new? Any ideas how to update in my situation?

If these EAPs are working properly currently, no need to upgrade the firmware.

As far as I'm concerned, it is okay to live with outdated firmware.

Just striving to develop myself while helping others.

@Virgo gave the best advice...if it ain't broke (and you don't need the bug fixes) leave well enough alone.  My EAP225-outdoors are still happily running 5.0.5 and I think the current version is 5.0.9, but there's nothing compelling in any of the release notes from .6 through .9 that would make me want to change anything anyways.

  @TheWifiNoob you still need to work on getting access to them through the controller or you will be back in the same situation if an update comes along that you do need or want.

 

Is the controller still running? Was it hardware or software? At least get into a situation where you can access them if needed.
