Hello All,

i have 82 EAP AP in my Hotel Wlan and i use the OC200.

EAP List:
- 610 Outdoor
- 670
- 660HD

- 653

- 655 Wall
- 650 Wall

In the Omada AI Wlan Optimization, a maximum of 80Mhz can be selected in the 5Ghz dropdown. By hand I can set the AP to 160Mhz at 5Ghz.

After optimization, no AP uses more than 80Mhz either.

Can someone explain to me why?

  @PHTP Hi!
I am missing 160 wide channels in "AI WLAN Optimization" as well.

Let's ask for support:

  @PHTP As you widen the BW, the radio output power is spread over that spectrum, resulting in less output power/MHz.  Similarly, the receiver sensitivity drops.  I'm thinking you would require a lot more AP's to keep signal levels strong enough to justify that BW.  Go through one wall, and there is no benefit at all.  Next issue is how to fit your 160 MHz into the spectrum... there would be a lot fewer non-interfering channels available.... probably not much for the AI feature to optimize.  There are DFS channels with restricted output power that you should not overlap either.  A hotel scenario with 82 AP's and this is an attempt to deliver full GPON fiber download BW to only one client?  If you want to do that, provide each hotel room with an Ethernet port!  Typically in a hotel, there are throughput limits applied to provide an overall consistent experience... rather than an up-and-down speed that varies with users.   Use 80 MHz BW if you must.  Do a search for other experiences in this 160 vs 80 MHz regard.

@RF_Dude well, it makes sense. And you're completely right about power/MHz.
My setup is quite dense with APs. I'll configure APs manually then - it ain't much.

Thanks!
