got a nice little system running with an OC300 couple of poe switches and some EAP225 all running fine

 

THEN VM drop a lease line on me with a static ip address

 

How do i change over from the DHCP setup that their router gives me to this static setup

 

do i need to buy an ER605 and setup that with the WAN as their static ip

Correct, you need DHCP and NAT functionality, and if the ISP isn't supplying the router function in their box, then you'll need to add that back.  ER605v2, or better ER7206, if you have the coin will do that.  As a side benefit, by adding an Omada controlled gateway, you'll start to get a lot more stats and control over traffic flows and forwarding.
