When configuring an openVPN client it only accepts an IP address for the server and not a domain name.

If you enter a FQDN in the "Remote server" field, you get the error "Invalid IP address format". The help text shows that

you should be able to "Enter the IP address or domain name of the OpenVPN server."

This is a problem when using the router for site to site tunneling where the sites WAN connection uses dynamic IP assignment.

  @mkostet

I don't understand why there should be a remote server field there, this is defined in the OVPN file you import. so tp-link remove the remote server field and use the information in OPVPN and we can use the FQDN

Anyone who's looking forward to this,

Please visit the request category and vote for this feature:

Omada routers, adding OpenVPN servers by its hostname is impossible, only accept IPs.

Will not follow any new cases but this one.
