Model: EAP225-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 5.1.0

1-currently have 6-EAP 225Outdoor and 1-EAP225 Ceiling mount indoor. Constantly disconnecting and dropping clients, After much research, I think my controller software may be the problem. It is 4.2.8, when I look up compatibility it looks as it should be 4.1.5. But I can not find that version download anywhere. Am I correct? Can you please advise?

  @Lectron8 Ok your original post say Controller Software so I misunderstood that. So you have the Software Controller. Then get this.  v5.12.7 Windows Software Controller

You are not going to be altering your hardware doing this. If you don't want to use the link, go to the TP-Link device page for the EAP225 Outdoor V3 and it is listed as the correct Software Controller.  If it were me, I would Forget all of your devices in the old software controller, if necessary reset them. Uninstall the old software controll. Install the new software controller and adopt.

Ok would really like to see the link data on the 6 outdoors. I'm convinced the issue is radio related. As a stabilization test, you could temporarily disable client access on the 5Ghz radio (ie remove client SSIDs from the 5Ghz radio), leaving them dedicated for mesh backhaul...and this is MOST important on the wired node, which I suspect is the 225 indoor. If the system gets more stable, you have your answer. Also, the 4.1.5 compatibility is the MINIMUM level needed for the device firmware(s). You really should update to v5, the issue might be that you need to go through some intermediate versions in order to restore a system backup file from 4.2 to 5.12. Alternatively, you can rebuild your network from scratch...but either way make SURE you copy down the current device Admin account credentials otherwise you'll be outside climbing poles to hard reset your APs if things go wrong.

  @Lectron8 What region?  Based off what I am seeing 5.12.7 Software controller is the latest. Is there a reason you are running such an old version?

 Hi @Lectron8

Your controller version is little bit old, upgrade to the newest version v5.12.7 may be helpful, you can download it at Download for Omada Software Controller | TP-Link

You can get latest firmware of Omada controller by subscribing this post:Get the Latest Omada SDN Controller Releases Here - Subscribe for Updates - Business Community (tp-link.com)

  @Lectron8

Are you using the controller for tokens or similar?  Otherwise, I doubt very much if the Controller is the issue here.  You can prove that to yourself by unplugging it and seeing if the disconnects keep happening.  (Don't worry, any meshed nodes will stay meshed without the controller so long as the power is stable and the signal is good).  If your nodes go offline, then you almost certainly have poor quality links between your meshed nodes...this could be the result of poor frequency planning and/or more RF noise in the environment from when they were first set up.

I'd suggest having a look at your Topology map in the controller, and turn on the 'Labels'...that will show you the signal strength on the meshed backhaul links....you really want to keep them better than about -82dBm for the 225-outdoors...so you have some buffer for when it get's really wet and nasty.  I run mine around -76dBm and they have been rock solid in every type of weather (and around here that's -30 to +90'F)

Thank you but I can't find the recommended 4.1.5 download, and all higher versions are not compatible according to the update instructions. I don't understand.

  @Lectron8 your original post suggests that the guide is telling you to downgrade to an even older version.  Can you post a page link to the exact instructions you are reading?

Also post an image of your controller status so we can confirm. Something is not right for it to be suggesting a downgrade.

Try what @d0ugmac1 recommended by removing the OC200 and see if the problem persists. If it does then its not your controller. You still need to get the firmware upgaded though.
