Hi,

 

I wanted to choose TL-SG2016P but this was not on the list.

 

I have a set up with working VLANs and I defined port 7 as all available VLANs.

 

This port should have an Access Point EAP670 attached.

 

 

 

Before connecting the AP to the port I had to configure it with all the available VLANs and I defined the management VLAN as one of the VLANs I connect to.

 

 

When I start the Omaga controller it finds the AP and prompts me for adoption. I can can the IP range and I see the AP on 192.168.1.71.

 

This works find and the controller starts to provision the AP.

 

This also works fine and then the controller starts to configure the AP.

 

During this I have access and internet on all defined WLANs available on the AP.

 

 

But then after 2-3 minuts the AP is disconnected and the SSIDs disapear and the blue light on the AP starts blinking (loong blinks).

 

The AP never comes back om again. I can´t see the IP address in a scan anymore.

 

 

Please help!

Bonus info: If I don´t adopt the AP in the Omada controller it keeps working and you can connect to all the WLANs.

 

The device is lost once I adopt it.

The AP set to a static IP or running on DHCP?

Did you also put the controller into the management VLAN?

It´s using DHCP.

Problem is; the connected port is using VLAN (all) so there is no attached/connected DHCP server (switch) as there is 3 VLANs available.

I guess DHCP is only working for those ports where I defined a single VLAN.

 

I did set the management VLAN as the VLAN I connect to from the switch.

 

My suspicion is that the TP-LINK controller (OC200) overwrites the settings in the AP once is has provisioned (and configured) the AP.

 

A guess; If not setting is create on the controller this is being writen to the AP making it unaccessible?!

 

Is there an option for the TP-Link controller to inherit the settings from the AP? and not wise versa?

This is one of the things I find a bit odd.

 

I have to set up the AP outside my network in order for me to change the management VLAN. Otherwise the AP is not discovered by the controller.

 

And this is were the issue start. Once I have changed the added management VLAN the controller discovers the AP and starts provisioning, configures, connects.. and then disconnects.

 

Again; I believe I am missing some setting in the controller that overwrites any settings made on the AP.

Thank you for your feedback.

 

I found the problem and corrected it.

 

A FW Update, a few resets, a new cable, and now its working.
