Model: RE700X
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

We have 300Mbps fibre broadband.  The house is wired throughout with Cat6.  We get that speed when devices are connected via ethernet.  I've just installed an RE700X Wi-Fi 6 range extender and switched the mode to Access Point to give better mobile coverage in one part of the house.  The RE700X is in the same room as two PCs.  Out of interest I disconnected them from the ethernet LAN and connected wirelessly to the RE700X to see what speed its was delivering.  I didn't expect 300Mbps but 27mbps came as a bit of a shock!  I'm not very knowledgable about this stuff but can anyone suggest why this is so much slower and, if possible, how to improve it?

To which band of the RE700X you're connected - 2.4GHz or 5GHz - bare in mind that 5GHz band is much faster than the 2.4GHz.

On the other side - what is your PC wireless network card ? You can check its associated speed to be sure it's connected at a proper speed - details.

Make sure that on your main router there are no any configured bandwidth limits like QoS or similar regarding RE700X.
