Hi,

I have a large home with a hardwire Gigabit Cat6 ethernet to all rooms.  I will be getting a 48-port Tp-Link switch and plans to connect a number of Access Points from various ports throughout the house.  I like the EAP670s for its power, and I can put two where there is a port near the ceiling.  For the rest of the house, I won't be able to use more EAP670 on a shelf as they are so big.  I can either use the smaller EAP650s or I can use the Decos XE75s in Access Point mode.  I like the Deco XE75 because the 2.5Gbs port gives me future proof, and I like the style better.  Plus, if I ever use them elsewhere and need the mesh functionality, I would have them.  My question is can I mix and match the EAP670 with the Deco XE75 if I use them in Access Point mode?  Would my client devices move seamlessly between access points?  Or should I go with EAP650s and stay within the Omada platform?  I just like the Deco styles on a shelf.

EAP has the different roaming system from Deco’s, they can not achieve the seamless roaming together, they are the different system and mechnism. Suggest keep all devices as omada EAPs and use the omada platform.
