Is it possible to block sending files via Whatsapp on the Er605 router

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

This is not a firewall product and it cannot be that specific in the filter settings.

The product can block certain apps via the DPI feature but it blocks it entirely. It does not specific to a port that the app uses.

 

I would recommend you either buy a firewall product and add it to the network or find out the URL, IP, or port it uses, and set up an ACL or URL filter to block it.

 

Note that apps nowadays may use different URLs, IPs, and ports for load balancing and if you are gonna do one of the blocks, you have to make sure you block them all. Or the sessions can still be made and the files can be sent.

We are not obliged to provide a list of the latest URLs, IPs, and ports the apps use. Please visit its tech support team and consult related matters. Or find out a list of rules on the Internet.
