Hi everyone!

I want to migrate from ISP equipment to something more capable and in the latest months i read everything about alternatives.

Initially I wanted to choose UI because I'm using at my job and I know the equipments and the interface but the latest hardware and software releases are full of bugs and I'm not sure if I will choose them in the future.

I have pppoe connection 1 gb down / 1 gb up. Fiber is connected on the ISP's ONT with routing capabilities which can be switched to bridge mode.

I'm thinking to buy these:

Router ER7206

2xAP EAP650

I want to know from already users experience if this router is capable to reach full pppoe 1gb speed... (like 940+ mbps) on wired devices ?

Also with these AP's I can reach aprox 700mbps with AX compatible devices ?

Related to Software Controller version, I can manage the network remotely if it's installed on a minipc or also on a VM outside the house. It is mandatory to run the Software 24h/24h or I can start it only when i need to change some settings.

Are there some limitations for Software Controllers compared to Hardware (OC200/300) ?

Also I need VPN server and client but I checked ER7206 and I saw that is capable(more than ER605).

Cheers!

Hi @Eaaasy

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

For any models we have, the NAT throughput will be listed in the datasheet. So, you may refer to the datasheet and look for the specific parameters you'd like to know.

WIFI6 per stream is about 1201. 160MHz and 1024QAM. If it is a compatible device, you can get 700Mbps.

Controller can reside in or outside the LAN. It's up to you. If it is not inside the LAN, you gotta use the Discovery Tool to assign the IP address of the controller. You should also port forward the controller ports as well.

Some features rely on the controller and this requires a 24/7 up status.

No big differences. Software can usually carry more and updates would be a little bit ahead. HW OC is giving an option to the users where they don't have a server/idle computer.
