I have several of these switches in a few wireless mic racks and I'm having trouble seeing them via the manufacturer's software (Shure).  It appears that all the traffic that they use is IGMP multicast and UDP.  If I connect them to a "real" switch (cisco), they communicate but through these tp link, they do not. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi @jimjr555

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

There is nothing different between Cisco and TP-Link in the IGMP. However, 0.158 does not join the group.

So, here's my question, how do they connect together? Net diagram?

And about the 0.158, this IP address, where is the packet from it when it is connected to the SG108 switch?

Since this is a dummy switch, I think there is nothing particular we can do to change this. But IGMP indeed looks like working fine based on your Wireshark. It is just the other mic did not join the group.

@Clive_A - laptop and mic (.158) are both connected to random ports on the sg108 (and even tried a different sg108 - same result).  Duplicated the same setup with the Cisco switch.

If this persists, I would assume it is a problem with the switch. Maybe this unmanaged switch missing a feature because it only provides the IGMP Snooping. Unless the managed one which you can determine if the packet is dropped or not.

Do you have the Wireshark results from the SG108 to show the full interaction?

@Clive_A I've actually got Wireshark files for both the Cisco and the SG (zip attached).

I have confirmed that this is only an issue with the TP Link switches.  I tried a new one (fresh out of the box), same issue.  I had a couple of unmanaged Aruba switches (model 1430) and tried those and the problem again goes away so it's definitely the TP Link stuff...
