Hello!

I'm trying to set up a mesh wifi system and I'm having trouble configuring it. I would be very grateful if you could help me solve a couple of questions.

The configuration scheme is as follows:

Starlink -> Omada Router (ER605) -> Switch (5 ports, 4 PoE) -> Omada controller (OC200) / 3 AP (EAP 110)

I set up the system following this guide: https://www.tp-link.com/no/support/faq/3541/

I managed to get the system to work correctly, but every time the power goes out (the power is unstable and goes out at least once a month), the system fails to restart (the controller doesn't connect to the cloud) and I have to configure everything from scratch.

Some considerations:

  1. The Starlink antenna is generation 2.
  2. I bypassed the Starlink router.
  3. I have the Starlink antenna connected to the router via cable to the first pin of the router (configured as WAN with dynamic IP).
  4. Although the guide says that the switch should be connected to the second WAN/LAN1 port as PoE, I couldn't figure out what username and password to use. So I connected the switch to port 3 of the router without any additional configuration.
  5. I plugged the router cable into pin 5 of the switch. I plugged the controller into port number 1 and the APs into ports 2-3 and 4.

Questions:

  1. Why, when the modem loses power, is the controller unable to connect to the network?
  2. Is it necessary for the switch to be connected to the modem through a PoE port configuration? (see previous point 4)
  3. If yes to the above question, what username and password should I use?
  4. Can the ER605 router be configured to generate wifi signal?
  5. Since there are no available ports left on the switch, can an AP be connected directly to the modem and configured within the mesh network?

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my post.

1. If you can get an IP address, it means it is working properly. Something else should be examined.

2. Starlink > WAN_Router_LAN > Local devices.

3. If you log in the router IP, use the username and password you created for the router(ER605).

4. No.

5. AP should be connected to the LAN of router(ER605). As long as it gets an IP from the LAN of the router.
