Firmware Version:

I have a very specific position of the access point.

I have 4M junction box (width is ~14cm) with Ethernet (RJ45) port, Euro and Schuko (already equipped with it). Junction box is near the ceiling, middle of the junction box is ~6cm away from the ceiling.

What are the mounting options for this AP? Can it be mounted horizontally on the provided wall plate? Is wall plate compatible with 4M junction box?

As this AP is PoE powered I don't need Euro/Schuko, can I use it to attach some carrier to it instead? This would be the best option as I could mount AP vertically and I would avoid dismantling mask, rj45, euro and schuko.

P.S. I would like to avoid drilling at all costs if possible.

Hi @igorvurdelja

Could you describe the detail information of the junction box and provide a picture of it?

For your information, the EAP can be mounted into an 86 mm wall junction box, a standard EU wall junction box, or a standard US junction box. The junction box should be pre-installed with a running-in-wall Ethernet cable connected to a PoE switch. You can refer to the installation guide to learn how to mount it. And here is the mounting video for better understanding.

Besides, could you double confirm what do you mean attach some carrier? Do you want to connect it to the ISP modem?

 Hi @Hank21,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Junction box is standard 4M Europe variant. Please see the image below.

I meant, is there any chance to keep still the 4M mask and still mount the repeater. As there are unused schuko and euro sockets, I thought that maybe there is some option to mount it using these sockets. E.g. https://www.tp-link.com/us/home-networking/range-extender/re305/ can be directly mounted in the schuko socket and it doesn't require any mount.

Hi @igorvurdelja

Thanks for sharing. But the EAP bracket cannot be mounted to your 4M mask currently. It has to be mounted as below.

By the way, please note that the EAP615-Wall only supports the PoE power supply, please note that the socket will be not able to power on the EAP615-Wall.
