Model: EAP610-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.3

Hello,

I recently purchased the EAP610-outdoor with the hope of being able to extend my current wifi network out in the yard around our pool. However setting up the AP with the same SI D and password simply does not work. I can find no way to make this work with an existing network.

that said if I setup a new wifi network on the AP we have tremendous coverage around the pool but I don't want family or guests to have to switch networks going outside or inside.

Is there not a way to have this AP extend the range of an exisiting wifi network?

Hi  @BigE67

You can configure the SSID and password of EAP610-outdoor totally the same as your main router's.

For most wireless clients, they will only display one wifi network on the wifi list. And they will be able to roam between the two networks.

You can check like this: go to a point far away from the router but close to the EAP, and check the signal strength.

I should add that I want to extend the range of the existing wireless without enabling reapeater mode, I tried repeater mode and it's terrible, the signal is not strong enough to repeat it effectively. The AP is hard wired to my router and I want to use the device in AP mode with the same SID and password. The only workable configuration I found is two wifi networks, one inside and one outside.
