Hi everyone,

First, thanks for providing this forum support.

Context : Home setup with 8Gb Fiber symmetrical. I run a ER8411 with the SDN running on a docker. I have a SG2008P switch as well.

On the ER8411 :

- WAN1 (SFP+) is connected to the main internet ISP box (Freebox)

- WAN/LAN4 (RJ45) is connected to a backup 4G router

This morning I noticed the internet was down in the house. Connected to the SDN, i saw this :

So everything fine right ? Well, wrong ! My main ISP was effectively down due to an incident on the fiber network.

Don't the ER8411 router suppose to notice that?

I don't understand... I thought that the internet was checked, not the status of the local device.

How can I make the ER8411 send ping to google.com for example?

Thanks for reading.

Hi @Asche

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

You could use this: Common Questions About the Load Balancing, Link Backup(Failover) & Online Detection

Connected does not mean it has Internet. Usually, you should see online/offline. Offline means it detects no Internet. Online means it has Internet.

What's the controller version do you use?

BTW, docker is not maintained by us. It is a recoding and migration from a community member. We do not guarantee support for the docker version.
