Deco M4 as AP?
Hi guys,
Bought the Deco M4 to use as an access point since the WiFi signal downstairs is weaker than upstairs. Setting up the M4 was easy and I set it to Access Point mode without issues. However, none of my devices are connecting to it.
Also, I am a bit confused as it forced me to create a unique SSID, so I could use my routers SSID. I guess that's why no devices connect to it. I was hoping my devices would seamlessly connect to it when it offered better signal but that's not happening.
I'm sure I am doing something wrong here, or do I have to accept that the Deco M4 will have it's own unique SSID and I have to connect my devices manually to it? Or is the point to deactivate WiFi on the router and use two Deco M4:s instead - one upstairs and one downstairs?
Any help is appreciate

Deco mesh will not share WiFi with router. What you have now is two separate independent WiFi networks: one from router, another from Deco mesh.
The right solution is to deactivate WiFi on the router, use just Deco mesh for WiFi. Configure Deco mesh with router's SSID/password, so that devices will seamlessly reconnect to Deco mesh after you turn off router's WiFi.

@Alexandre. thank you so much for responding :)
Does this essentially mean I need to get another Deco M4 for upstairs?

You said you have one M4 downstairs and another M4 upstairs. You can keep it that way. Is one Deco unit not enough upstairs?

@Alexandre. I only have one M4. I use my router for WiFi upstairs and my M4 downstairs.
