Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.2.6 Buid 20240718 Rel 82712

Hi,

I have just bought a new ER605 router to compliment my full TP link setup that i have, the issue i've got is that when i configure the wan port just like my old TL-R600VPN

its giving me a completly different WAN ip address which is a local ip it seems to treating it as a lan rather than wan port for some reason i've flashed it to the latest firmware but its still the same I'm hoping someone can shed some light on whats going wrong i've attached both routers to show the difference between them.

Hi @Cannonz

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

This is not a problem at the router's system level.

You should contact your ISP regarding this matter.

Not sure the reason why but your ISP defines the IP and gateway based on the PPPoE.

It's either behind a modem router. Or your ISP withdraws your public IP address for a reason.

The ER605 isnt making a PPPoE connection. Either you don't have the correct PPPoE credentials configuration or possibly your ISP has 'locked' the connection to the previous routers MAC address. If the PPPoE config is correct, then try cloning the MAC address on the ER605
