Static private IP on wan
Hi,
I have a question: if i use a static private IP on wan port interface, and its subnet is different from LAN's subnets, will the router use NAT trough that port or not? How i could check it?
Sorry if it is a dumb question.

Hi @Antony23
Thanks for posting in our business forum.
The router will NAT regardless of what IP you have. If you pass through the router, regardless of the direction, but WAN and LAN, you will be NAT-ed.

That's what I am saying, LAN and WAN, regardless of what directions, as long as they communicate, to another side, will be NAT-ed.
In your description, you also lack the second device which is reached out(destination). Communication is two-way and you only described one. The ER605 is the router which is usually not a direction/device to be reached unless you specify it as the destination. It is the middle-man. Source and destination.

The destination of packets is internet public ip. The private static ip configured on er605 Wan is local ip having same subnet of other router/modem (5g), that get isp ip and i assume will nat all traffic coming to it from er605.
So my question Is if i'll get nat to er605 too, that is double nat.
