Further tests done with Beta Firmware v1_1.1.92.
1. Is there any error message when failed to connect? Better with some screenshots;
Error message shown in the IoT app is: Connection failed. Failed to load data, Let's try again. If this keeps happening, please try: 1. Switching your smart device off and then on. 2. Restart this app, and try again.
Caption
2. Is this happening only some fixed clients?
Only with IoT devices, all other PCs, laptops, mobile devices will connect (although they do use 5Ghz band, so cannot comment on 2.4Ghz band). However, there are at 5 different manufacturers which cannot connect only to this EAP783. They will happily connect to EAP690E HD.
3. Did you test these clients with an open 2.4G only SSID? Will the same thing happen?
Yes, I did try with open 2.4G SSID named TestIoT. Same thing happened, no connection with IoT devices.
4. Are other clients working as expected when using this firmware?
To be honest, no, I've set up an internal speed test server, and I am getting downloads and uploads speed of about 55 Mbps. With same cable, EAP690E HD does about 600 Mbps download and 450 Mbps upload. Cable is cat 5e, but will be replaced soonest.
5. Does this happen on both of the EAP783?
Yes, both devices behave in the same way, tested.
With firmware 1.0.14, same answers:
1. Does that mean, all wireless clients unable to connect to the EAP's SSID? including mobile phones and IoT clients?
No, only IoT devices cannot conect. Mobile phones work.
2. Can client connect to other EAP models?
Yes, to EAP245 v3.0 and EAP690E HD.
3. Does this happen on both of the EAP783?
Yes.
OC300 controller firmware is 1.29.7 Build 20250514 Rel.59723, version 5.15.24.20
Are there any other tests to be done, maybe with different methods or firmwares or analysis softwares?

Hi @liviu2004
Thanks for the info.
So both the firmwares have the concern.
Could you let me know when you installed the EAP783? Do you know if the IoT clients worked before? Or are they never connecting the EAP783 since the first installation?
Apart from set only 2.4 Ghz SSID, 20Mhz, channel 6, 802.11b/g/n, WPA2 Personal AES, Power High,
Please try: turn off roaming settings and the advanced settings for the IoT SSID.

If the issue persists, please let us know the type and brand of the IoT devices you are using.

Dear Vincent,
EAP783 have been installed 4 July 2025, so 6 days ago. The IoT devices have been installed on or about 5 years ago, give or take the additions or removals. Yes, IoT devices worked before with EAP245 v3.0 and EAP690EHD, I even have them connected now to those APs, because EAP783 have to go offline due to this issue.
I will test your suggested settings soonest.
IoTs are as follows, green are connecting, yellow cannot test now:
Miele washing machine WER875 WLAN firmware version 04.05
Miele dryer TCR870WP WLAN firmware version 04.05
Miele dish washer G7655 WLAN firmware 09.12 (latest available is 09.14)
Miele oven H7264BP
Miele cooking plate KM7564
Miele microwave oven H7240BM
WiFi LED controller brand unknown, works with Magic Home app, firmware reported is 41.v3.27.7934-A
Sound speakers, WMA50-SW from aquasound.eu
Daikin air conditioning unit with WiFi adapter WLAN BRP069B41
Honeywell Evohome WIFI Connected Smart Controller
Eufy Robovac X10 Pro Omni firmware 3.4.5

I have switched off Fast Roaming, and herewith the results:
Some of the IoT clients are connected.
Older Miele devices not, LED light controller not, sound speakers not.
LE: found LED light controller to be based on Boufallo Lab BL602 chip.

Well, more testing done today, with some surprise. Over the weekend I installed fiber optic for half of the trunk cabling (not the 5e I mentioned previously).
Went ahead with setting the network as per suggestion, and ... it worked. Then went step by step and enabled all sorts of options from suggestions and security (up to WPA2) and I could not get it to fail again. I'm puzzled. I don't know what fixed it.
Nevertheless, I am not using MLO and 6 Ghz, so I will not test with.
Conclusion so far, sorry, but I don't know what fixed it. But I will keep an eye for future firmware updates.

WiFi 7 products incorporate cutting-edge technologies, while some IoT devices still rely on relatively outdated technical standards. Certain compatibility issues between these new and legacy technologies are practically unavoidable. These problems are often particularly challenging to diagnose and resolve.
However, based on our extensive experience, the solutions we've recommended previously can effectively address the majority of such compatibility cases.
Thank you for your feedback here. Anything new comes up, don't hesitate to start a new thread.

Hello Vincent,
but obviously there are still huge problems with the EAP783. Also with the 1.1.92 . When can we expect a new update?
The 1.0.14 doesn't work so well either. I hope that work is being prioritized there.
