Can I use VIGI NVR and VIGI Camera via the Internet?
We wanna use network camera in a few sites however NVR should only be placed head quarter.

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

Not based on the VIGI cloud, based on port forwarding and public IP, it is not possible as certain models do not support remote management.

How to Set Up IPC Remotely/Motion Recording/RTMP/802.1X/Active Defense on VIGI Cameras

 

If they are based on the VIGI cloud, it is possible. We offer the platform for management. Bind to the same account.

Could you let me ask additional questions ?

  • Based on your response, is it impossible to set the camera's IP address to a Public IP on the NVR?
    If yes, would it be possible if we use IPsec and communicate using Private IP addresses instead?

  • With the combination of VIGI NVR2016H and VIGI C440, is it impossible to use them in an environment with Public IP addresses?

 

I have attached the expected network diagram.

It should be possible via the VPN as it creates the LAN-to-LAN tunnel.

 

See the configure guide which lists the supported models. For other models, refer to the release note if they specify supported.
