Background:

In a recent firmware upgrade, certain VIGI cameras now support Adding New Remote IPC, Motion Recording Mode, RTMP, 802.1X and Active Defense. This article aims to help people properly configure them.

This Article Applies to:

VIGI cameras support the described features.

Configuration Steps:

Adding New Remote IPC

1. Navigate to Settings> Camera > Remote Registration, enable the remote addition feature and configure the verification code.
2. Configure the IPC with the NVR’s information. Input the NVR’s IP address (or domain name, with DDNS support), port, and verification code. Once connected, the status will display as "Connected."
3. Once configured:

  • For the first-time connection, the NVR will automatically add the IPC.
  • For subsequent additions, scan for the remote IPCs in the NVR interface and click “Add.”.

Note:
In public network environments:

  • The router connected to the NVR must have a public IP address.
  • Map two ports to the public network using UPnP or other methods.
  • The IPC must be configured with the public IP address and the corresponding external port.

Motion recording mode

1. Select motion recording mode;
2. Set your own schedule for motion recording mode;
3. Object Classification is optional.

RTMP

1. Get the server address and stream key from your live platform;
2. Switch RTMP status to enable and fill in the information in step 1.

Note:

VIGI supports RTMP under H264 and G711 codec. In some live platforms, specified resolution and audio codec are necessary, which may cause issues when live.

802.1X

1.    Select protocol type, EAPOL Version, and use the correct username/password;
2.    Enable 802.1X and apply to start 802.1x connection.

Active Defense

Go to Setting > Event > Active Defence. The alarm can be enabled or disabled by one click.
