Declined Number of switches managed by ER7212PC

Why can the ER7212PC only manage 2 switches? This is supposed to be enterprise level equipment but most sites I service have at least 4 or 5 switches and many have considerably more. 2 switches would barely cover many home based set ups, nevermind a commercial office with more than one room. Why is this limitation in place?

Hi @ABCTech
Thanks for posting in our business forum.
ER7212PC was never made for the situation like what you described.
ER7212PC was once a model sold to the partners only. Was released to the consumer later on as people asked for it.
Why was it for the partner only? It was a contract requested by our partner for the convenience store like 7/11. For a store like this, a 3-in-1 like this would be better than an AP+AC+PoE switch and router? Don't you think?
If you have a performance hunger, consider the AP+AC+PoE Switch+Router.
We will not improve its functionality due to the hardware resources having reached their limit.
V2 has been displayed on the support page. Based on the lessons and request, I think V2 would be much better than V1, IMO.
Edited: Like what I thought.

Hi @ABCTech,
The ER7212PC doesn't sound like the correct product for you. This is more of an all-in-one product for small deployments with a small hardware footprint and lower price point compared to buying seperate componenets. For larger deployments, you would need a dedicated controller, gateway and AP instead of the ER7212PC. The biggest issue with the ER7212PC is if you want to expand your network later, you can't use it. Currently there's not an option to disable the ER7212PC's controller and adopt it by an external controller; thus if you plan to have more than two switches don't bother with a ER7212PC.
