The information below is for Australia and I checked it on the TP-Link Australia website Support Download section. @GRL told me some of these products have actually had 2025 firmware updates on the US & EU websites, that should be able to be installed in Australia. Though nothing for the ER7412-M2. @Clive_A it appears the Support & Downloads information on the Australian website may be quite outdated.

--------------------------
@Clive_A thank you for the info. You mentioned about gateway firmware updates that:

"Generally, we have a major update every 6 months. Minor update every quarter."

However, that is not my findings. That was true for 2022-2024 period, but in 2025 no gateways appear to have received a single update so far (except ER7406 because it just released in 2025). If I am correct, all the other gateway products have have seen no firmware update for 10-20 months?

I'm was a bit surprised by these findings, because it is very likely the software components in these routers have had bug or security fixes occur in the last year, yet it appears there have been no firmware updates.

"Due to the previous conversation with certain users who seriously complained about the schedule we informed, and the delay in the update, I decided not to share any information about the firmware release even if I am aware of it."

I don't want to be one of these people! 😅 I acknowledge you don't set the timetables or release dates, and can't share future dates. But as TP-Link customers, we can see that gateway updates appear to have stopped in 2025, and it may raise concern. Could you please pass that comment on? Thank you! 🙏

  • ER8411 --> no firmware update for 1.5 years (2023-12-27) --> had regular updates in 2022-2023, then stopped
  • ER7412-M2 --> no firmware update for 10 months (2024-12-08) --> has one had just one firmware update since launch in ~2024-10-04
  • ER7406 --> no firmware update ever (but only released 2025-07-02)
  • ER7206 --> no firmware update for more that 1 year (2024-03-24) --> had regular updates in 2020-2024, then stopped
  • ER707-M2 --> no firmware update for almost 1 year (2024-11-04) --> had regular updates in 2020-2023, then stopped
  • ER605 --> no firmware update for more than 1 year (2024-05-22) --> had regular updates in 2022-2024, then stopped
  • TL-R605 --> no firmware update for more than 1.5 years (2023-12-01) --> had regular updates in 2022-2023, then stopped

Please correct me if I have made any mistakes above! I based this on the Australian website firmware downloads pages.

@GRL "Why post this in two threads?"

The other thread was actually about SD-WAN support. It just lead me down the rabbit-hole of checking the gateway firmware updates here in Australia. This thread is actually about firmware updates so this seems the better place to discuss it.

@GRL "I already debunked this in the other thread, your information is incorrect"

Thanks for you comments and info. The information I posted is from Australia and I checked it on the TP-Link Australia website Support Downloads section. From what you say, it could be the Australia support pages are not up to date with the latest releases. And the newer firmware releases below are actually available in Australia, just not updated on the Australian website. I couldn't tell, because I too was checking on the ER7412-M2 mentioned in this thread, and even installed product are not offered an update in 2025, they still on version 1.0.1 from 2024, which is also what the TP-Link Australia website says. Please don't be upset with me for believing what the official TP-Link support website said! 🙏
