Model: OC200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.34.2

Yesterday (17/04/25) at around 1600 AWST (UTC+8), the controller at five of my eight sites went offline with the Omada portal. I can still VPN to all the sites and access the controllers without issue. The internet works fine, as I can ping the Omada cloud IP address.

I have tried a reboot of some of the controllers to restore cloud access without success. I have also tried unbinding the device, but it was rejected because it cannot reach the cloud controller.

Also, when I VPN into the controller and try to browse to the omada.tplinkcloud.com website, I get the login page, but I can't log in. If I disconnect the VPN and try the page, it logs in without issue. If I VPN into one of the three sites with online controllers, I can access the Omada cloud without issue. The sites are all in the same IPv4 C-class subnet (albeit with different IPs), so it's not a routing issue.

I am at a loss as to what is causing the problem. Has anyone else experienced this recently? Is there an outage with Omada where one of their hosts in the cluster is offline?

Regards

Stephen

I have been out for a while, I saw this reply, logged into the omada cloud portal, and all controllers are back online.

Hi  @AussieMan

We had a update for Omada cloud-based controller on 2025-04-17 , maybe this is the cause to the issue.

When I VPN into the controller and try to browse to the omada.tplinkcloud.com website, I get the login page, but I can't log in.

>>>Please share a screenshot of the failed to login page and include the error message;

If I disconnect the VPN and try the page, it logs in without issue.

>>> Which page/URL were you browsing? If you disconnect the VPN, how did you connect to the controller? Did you login locally?

Now that you can login the page, could you please disable cloud access and re-enable it, and see if the controller will be online agian.

  @AussieMan

Thank you for your response. Based on this analysis, the issue was likely caused by cloud upgrade fluctuations that day. Fortunately, everything has now returned to normal operation.
