Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hi,

Is there an (easy ;)) way to move from an ER7206 to a (new) ER707-M2? To not set everything up again ... thinking network configuration, Wireguard server, etc.

Thanks!

I dont understand?

in omada, "forget" the old router.

Go to internet settings, select the new model router

Re-Set WAN port info

plug in new router

---- if not using 192.168.0.X network then log into new router in standalone and adjust its default LAN to match what you have ----

Plug in and adopt

Main: ER8411 x1, SG3428X x1, SG3452 x1, SG2428LP x1, SG3210 x1, SG2218P x1, SG2008P x3, ES208G x1, EAP650 x6 Remote: ER7206 v2 x1, ER605 v2 x3, SG2008P x2, EAP650 x2, ES205G x1 Controller: OC300

If you have an Omada controller, you just need to forget the old router, then select the type of router in the internet settings, follow the wizard. Make a backup before doing this, if you make a mistake, just restore and try again.

Sounds great, thanks! Will do that - and report back. I am changing out the router, also moving from a SW controller to OC200 ... router or controller first? ;). Thanks again!

first set up the new router with IP in stand alone if you are using something other than the standard IP 192.168.0.0/24 once you have run the wizard you can adopt the router

OK, I went to do this, but ... how to replace the current router to do this? Asking because I can't have 2 (upstream) routers in parallel ... right? So how to actually make the swap? Thanks!

@GRL That works, thanks! It was the forget part I needed to do first LOL. Almost all good now ... just a couple odd things not working yet (after adopt, reboot),

1) Cloud access, shows disconnected. Off, back on. Nope. Odd.

2) Firmare updates, it complains when trying to get the list.

It's almost like DNS isn't working, but many other things do work. Very odd.

Thanks again.

Found it! Had to reboot the (SW) controller, after replacing the router. Thanks!
