Model: OC200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.34.2 Build 20250110 Rel.75707

I have an Omada system at work and the same system at home. Both have the OC200 v1 and ER7206 V2.20 at their heart and are up to date with the latest firmware. Both have a Jetstream switch (different sizes per location) and an AX5400 AP off that switch (work has 2). Essentially the same config at both locations.  Both locations are significantly geographically located apart (~90KM) and both use different ISPs.  Resources and traffic on both networks at every level are very low.

Here is my issue. Through work we have an externally hosted VoIP service where we have physical desk handsets in the office as well as virtual softphones on our PCs and mobile phones. When we have calls on any form of these device options, at almost 2 minutes into the call a clicking sound starts that keeps repeating every few seconds with a consistently timed interval, like a metronome. The issue occurs over wired and wireless connections, regardless of the device (where testable).

For our VoIP services we are using MeloTel in Toronto as our provider.  The handsets are Polycom, provided by them.  The softphone on mobile and PC is Acrobits, configured by them.

I have been working with them to troubleshoot the issue. When I am on my network at home or work (the same config), the issue occurs. When I use the softphone client on my mobile phone via LTE vs WLAN on the described networks, the issue doesn't occur. So the issue appears, at this time, to be Omada config related.

My provider and I went through the Omada config as a whole and made changes as follows:

  • Reviewed the device settings for the ER7206 router and then made the following changes:

    • Common Settings > Transmission > NAT > ALG

      • SIP ALG -> Set Enabled to unchecked

  • Site > Settings > Gateway QoS > VoIP Prioritization

    • Enabled the “Enable the First Priority for VoIP SIP/RTP”

    • Set the port to 5060 (and later 5061) , the providers uses both 5061 for encrypted channel and 5060 for control.  Can you set a range?

Findings so far:

  • When we made changes to the SIP ALG and/or VoIP prioritization, the configuration would be saved and the clicking would cease in real time.  2 minutes later, it would resume. This is presenting as a timed window of some kind.

TLDR, Thanks for any help 😊

Has anyone run into a similar issue like this with VoIP on Omada?
