I just installed an EAP211 Main AP on a trailer and broadcasting out in the field. It connects perfectingly to the Sub EAP211 and from there I have it connected via ethernet to a EAP 610. I do have some other AP units (EAP610 and EAP225) scattered out in the field that sees the strong signal from the Main EAP211. I thought that since the EAP211 transmists a wireless 5ghz signal I would be able to connect to it with the other APs but for some reason I am not able to. Is there an easy way to connect to an AP to the Main EAP211 wirelessly? Thanks.

Hi  @Mattrocks

Currently it’s only support to build mesh between EAP bridge Models.  That is to say, we can't build mesh between EAP211-bridge and EAP610/EAP225.

But if you are using EAP610-outdoor, or EAP225-outdoor, you can configure them in repeater mode, that's similar as mesh.

How to configure Omada EAP in Repeater mode

However, EAP610/EAP225 ceiling mount indoor APs don't support repeater mode.

  @Mattrocks

Thanks for the info. I do have the outdoor AP and I am able to connect the EAP 225 as a repeater to the bridge without issue. However, when I try and connect the 610 as a repeater, it is able to locate the 211 and go through all the motions as if it is configuring but once complete, it shows that the 610 is disconnected. I have tried it several times attempting to connect to either the main AP or sub AP but the connection will not stay. Am I missing something?

Hi  @Mattrocks

What's the distance between the EAP610-outdoor and the EAP211 bridge KITs?

If put it close to them and finish the set up wizard, will the same issue occur?

In the meantime, please let us know the firmware version number of the EAP610-outdoor and the EAP211-bridge KITs.

The initial distance between the EAP610 AP to EAP211 was 450 meters. I have removed the EAP610 and brought it back to the trailer to try programming at a shorter distance of 25 meters and that still does not connect. The firmware for the EAP211 is 1.0.1 Build 20250318 Rel. 84701 and the EAP610 is 1.1.3 Build 20230330 Rel 73099.

So I am able to connect to the EAP211 wireless bridge as long as my network on the EAP610 is different from the other AP and bridge. If I try and change the extended network to align with the rest of the mesh networks that is when i get disconnected and can no longer reconnect to the the host.

When you say network, are you referring to the SSID?

Do you mean it only failed when the EAP610-outdoor's SSID is the same as the EAP215-bridge KIT's?

Please try factory reset the EAP610-outdoor and try again.

Yes, I was referring to the SSID. Correct, it only fails when I have the EAP610-outdoor as the same SSID as the EAP211 Bridge. I can setup the EAP610 SSID as something random and then convert it and then it fails. If I try and set it up initially as the main SSID, it will not connect. I have done a factory reset and I have also updated the firmware with no luck.
