Model: ES210GMP
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.0 Build 20240830

Hi,

I'm running Omada Controller version 5.15.20.20, and it's proposing a firmware update to 1.0.1 Build 20250409 Rel.71868 for my TP-Link ES210GMP v1.0 switch. However, the update consistently fails, it doesn't even start downloading the firmware from what I can see in the controller interface.

All other firmware updates for my other Omada-compatible devices are working fine through the controller. I've verified that the controller has internet access, and cloud access is enabled. I couldn't find this specific firmware version (1.0.1 Build 20250409 Rel.71868) on the TP-Link Download Center for the ES210GMP v1.0, which makes me wonder if it's a beta or region-specific release.

Has anyone else encountered this issue with the ES210GMP v1.0 or this firmware version? Any suggestions on how to resolve the download failure or locate the firmware file for a manual update? Alternatively, is there a known workaround for applying this update via the controller or the switch’s standalone UI?

Thanks for any help!

Kind regards

Wesley

  @WesleyB

That does not seem to be a valid firmware yet.

You might need to wait for the official website to release that firmware, and you might be able to upgrade to it.

Indeed it is not displayed on the official firmware releases.

@Clive_A  Thank you. Any idea why the controller is offering it then?

Don't know. It's a different team for cloud maintenance.

@Clive_A Is it possible to ask them to remove this? It is quite annoying to have the Controller notify about updates. It has been like this for months now, so I don't think the update is coming.

You should move on from this.

There is a 1.0.3 firmware that was released in July.

This has way passed 1.0.1 Build 20250409 Rel.7186.

@WesleyB did this ever actually get solved for you?

Im getting the same thing, I have the notice to upgrade as its still no the 1.0.0 version and I need to upgrade, but it fails.

I was told by the support (who gave me one email and then ignored me going forward) to manually update it one by one, I did that, it still fails.

I upgrade to the newest version, still fails.

I just went all in on TPlink and now very much regretting it if this is the standard operating procedures, thats for sure.

https://support.omadanetworks.com/us/product/es210gmp/?resourceType=download

I tried one by one, tried direct to 6.. nothing is working.

Is there any solution to this ?

Oh, and of course there is no log so I can't see why its failing.. Maybe as im trying to upgrade through Omada or something?
