Hi all,

in reference to my post in Router section I would like to ask and suggest minor configuration modification:

Q 1: based on my nmap scan, the DNS uses unbound 1.18.0 instead of standard dnsmasq DNS feature (standard in openWRT). is this true?

53/udp   open  domain     Unbound 1.18.0
|_dns-recursion: Recursion appears to be enabled
| dns-nsid:
|   id.server: ER605
|_  bind.version: unbound 1.18.0

Q 2: why is unbound used instead of dnsmasq which contains DNS functionality?

Suggestion:

allow integration between DHCP (probably dnsmasq)  and unbound as described in following OpenWRT README by changing of config files

  @ZoloNN

It does not support dynamic mapping the DNS and DHCP. The feature now only supports static DNS. This is expected behavior and a feature for now.

What you reported here is aware by our team.

I don't have any comments or information on the dev perspective or plan. If you pose related stuff discussing the hardware spec and software dev details, I am not gonna join the conversation as instructed.

Thank you for your understanding.
