EAP610 v2.0 Cannot upgrade to firmware version EAP610v2_1.4.2_[20250318-rel49538]_up_signed

My access point will not accept this firmware. After extracting the bin file from the zip file and uploading the firmware bin file I get an error, "Failed to check for new update" which is not a helpful error at all. I've never had issues updating the firmware on this device before. I have tried rebooting the device twice so far and physically powering off the device. I have also tried using Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. All three browsers give me the same error.

Hi @forcedfx
Please update the EAP610 to the version 1.3.1 first, then you will be able to update it to the latest 1.4.2.

I've had a different situation related to the 1.4.2 firmware. I have always had my Omada controller setup to perform automatic upgrades, which my EAP610 was previously at 1.3.1 and auto upgraded to 1.4.2. The update was fine but when it upgrades the AP will no longer connect to the network and gets stuck in an Adopting and Provisioning loop. I've manually downgraded back to 1.3.1 and the AP functions normally, then it upgrades to 1.4.2 and gets stuck in the loop again. I have now since turned off automatic upgrades in my controller so it doesn't happen again, but I don't really like that option.
Is there something else that could be done?
Thanks!
Drew

Hi @DrewA
Thanks for your feedback.
What type of controller are you using?
What's the topology of the network? Please share a screenshot of the controller's Topology.
How did you power on the EAP610?

Hi @DrewA
The controller you are using is too old, currently is 5.15.x, you are using 4.2.8.
Please update it to the latest and see if the issue persists.
Since your current version is too old and involves multiple version jumps, we recommend upgrading step-by-step through the following version:
1. 4.2.8 >>> 4.4.6
2. 4.4.6>>> 5.0.30
3. 5.0.30>>>5.15.20.21
Note:
To prevent configuration loss, ensure you export the controller's config file from the old version before each upgrade.
’After upgrading to the new version, import the old config file into the new system.
Any issue occured when updating, don't hesitate to let us know.
