Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.3.0

Just recently installed an ER605 for my home network. Noticed I was having an issue where whenever I'd upload something my ping would slowly increase from 20ms to 300ms. When I changed bandwidth to just under what I would get from my isp it would fix my ping issue but my upload speed wouldn't be able to go over 1Mbps (even when bandwidth is set to double what ISP provides). Any thoughts on how I can fix the issue of my speeds dropping to nothing when I change my bandwidth settings to anything under what my ISP provides?

Also the issue persists even when I set it to double or triple

  @TTSI

What is the value your ISP allows for your upload?

QoS is like so, you need to limit the bandwidth. And limiting it would make the ping stable. There isn't much you can do with it.

Bandwidth-related features are supposed to be set properly according to your actual Internet plan. Not randomly setting a value and expecting it to fix your network fluctuation.

  @Clive_A I'm currently getting 25x5. (Will be upgrading to 300x300 soon). I set my bandwidth setting to 24500 and 4500 (so around o

90%)

Unit?

25Mbps DL 5Mbps UL?

24500Kbps?

Sorry that I am no good at guessing.

Under 50Mbps, you should use QoS together with the bandwidth control.

Above 50Mbps, you can use bandwidth control alone.

I've been changing the bandwidth control settings under the QoS menu. Then there's the separate Bandwidth control menu. And this is going on when I change QoS. So do I also need to set separate rules under Bandwidth control? Instead of the Bandwidth control that's under Qos?

Transmission -> QoS -> Bandwidth control (what I've been changing)

Transmission -> Bandwidth control (the other menu)

Not sure what mode. Not just the Bandwidth Control. The QoS contains two parts. Bandwidth Control and the QoS(priority settings). As said, when you are below 50Mbps or 100Mbps, QoS is important. Above that value, you can simply use the BC.
