Model: OC200
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 2.20.7 Build 20250514 Rel.53032

Good day. I'm trying to reduce the amount of unnecessary traffic in the network and found analyzing wireshark capture file that there is about 20% of ipv6 traffic from the total amount of traffic I captured. All my devices in the network are ipv4 only and I have no ipv6 infreatructure at all. So I would like to ask whether it is common practice to block ipv6 traffic as it is not used in some networks and if yes then I would like to understand how to do it properly? I tried to do it over EAP ACL but in the list of protocols ipv6 is missed.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Hi  @SMARTWAY

If your ISP does not provide IPv6-related services, then this traffic should be purely IPv6 communication within the LAN. This cannot be completely disabled solely from the controller interface. Any device that supports IPv6 functionality (such as computers, Matter devices, etc.) will generate a small amount of IPv6 data for communication with other devices on the LAN.

This data will not consume your bandwidth or affect device performance, so it is recommended to ignore it.
