Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 2.20.7 Build 20250514 Rel.53032

Good day!

I have OC200 + a number of EAP650 APs. All devices have the latest available versions. I have a laptop that constantly disconnects from the network and then connects back. It happens regularly many times per day. I reinstalled and updated its wifi driver but nothing changed. Can somebody tell me how I can get any details from the controller why such disconnection happens? Is there a log or debug inside the controller I can use to see it?

Thanks

Hi  @SMARTWAY

Is this issue only happening on the laptop?

What is the model number and version number of the laptop's Wi-Fi adapter?

When the issue occurred, did the Wi-Fi connection drop, or was the connection still there but it displayed as 'No Internet'?

You may create a test SSID and set the encryption method to "WPA2-PSK/WPA-PSK" to improve compatibility with older devices.

Hi. Thanks for the answer.

Interesting thing is that I just looked at the Clients logs and didn't find any records showing this laptop's disconnections from the network. As I understand in case it could be real disconnection I should find it in the logs. But nothing. So in fact I see that wifi icon in Windows goes to Disconnected but adapter itself remains connected. Strange. Is it possible that Controller can temporary logically disconnects that laptop (for example becasue of any security behavior) keeping it physically connected?

Hi  @SMARTWAY

Based on your description, the wireless connection was still active during the incident.

Is your controller located within the same LAN segment? If so, it's expected that the controller wouldn't capture relevant logs for this event.

Did you try the troubleshooting steps I previously recommended? What's the result?

Additionally, you can test the laptop on another network to see if the issue persists, and determine if it is specific to the EAP's network or the laptop itself.
