EAP772-Outdoor issue with AFC / 6Ghz

Hi,
I recently bought an EAP772-Outdoor (US) v1.0 AP from my local distributor in Singapore. While setting up, I realized there is no way to enable 6Ghz wifi.
By default, AFC is enabled, but I get the following error on the 6ghz radio page (6 GHz Band Unavailable, Due to regulatory requirements, the 6 GHz band is unavailable since your AFC location cannot be obtained).
I tried turning of AFC to see whether 6ghz can be enabled without AFC, but it did not work too
Can someone provide me some guidance on how I can make 6ghz work on this AP?
Thank you!

Hi @Rahzadan
Thanks for all the info.

No matter how many times I click "Refresh AFC", it is always Failed. I guarantee it is enabled (see my previous above screenshots). I cannot see or use any 6Ghz bands.
Here is the firmware page. I am on 1.3.1 Build 20250715.
The AFC failure may occur under the following circumstances:
- The EAP cannot access the external network - It definitely can. My 5G and 2.4G clients are able to access the AP and have internet access.
- No SSID is configured for both 2G & 5G frequency bands - There definitely is. 5G and 2.4G clients are connected and working. See here:
- The EAP is installed outdoors with no other SSID broadcasts nearby - There are many other neighboring SSID's nearby.
Please verify whether any of these conditions apply to your setup.
What's more, before update to 1.3.1 Build 20250715, was the AFC working correctly? - I have not tried any other firmware versions, as I updated to this as soon as I recieved the unit. Is there a specific version you recommend?

Hi everyone,
Just a heads up that I'm currently working with TP-Link Support to get AFC, and thus 6Ghz fixed on the EAP772-Outdoor. They have sent me a couple of diagnostic firmwares to try, which I then dump my config for them to analyze. I believe progress is being made, as they have requested I flash 2 different diagnostic firmwares so far, followed by 2 different config dumps. They have also stated that they have "identified some potential causes but need further investigation".
Crossing my fingers!

I was able to work with support and isolate the issue causing AFC to fail. Thank you for raising a support ticket on my behalf. I'm currently running an internal "Confidential Only For Test" firmware that was provided to me by support, that fixes AFC. I won't post this firmware publically since it labelled confidential.
I was just wondering if there is an ETA on a new Pre-release build (or final build) of the firmware that will include this fix. I'm not able to do a settings backup, as the backup feature on the test firmware I'm running only outputs diagnostic info and not a .bin backup.
Thanks!

Hi @Rahzadan
Thank you for the sharing and glad to hear that the AFC is working now.
ETA is always not accurate.
I had feedback to R&D and they are considering to add one more pre-release version, or speed up the next official release. Thanks for the understanding.

Update from my side. The TP-Link Support team has been very helpful and has sent across an update that now allows for 6ghz use in Singapore. Thank you to the team for helping!!

Hi
I am having the same issue. Is there any way I can get access to the beta/debug firmware to get my AFC working? Do I need to call support to get access to it?
Thank You
Jeff
