EAP772-Outdoor issue with AFC / 6Ghz
Hi,
I recently bought an EAP772-Outdoor (US) v1.0 AP from my local distributor in Singapore. While setting up, I realized there is no way to enable 6Ghz wifi.
By default, AFC is enabled, but I get the following error on the 6ghz radio page (6 GHz Band Unavailable, Due to regulatory requirements, the 6 GHz band is unavailable since your AFC location cannot be obtained).

I tried turning of AFC to see whether 6ghz can be enabled without AFC, but it did not work too

Can someone provide me some guidance on how I can make 6ghz work on this AP?
Thank you!

Let me flash this one and see if theres any difference, i mean the firmware was successfully upgraded, just didnt enable the 6ghz band :-( wierd part is, i also have the EAP772 v2, but its on firm 1.2.3, i tried upgrading it with that 1.3.4 file and the upgrade failed :S
Update on Outdoor: didnt let me upgrade since its the same version hehe

That is odd.
I'm not sure about the EAP772 v2 itself (I don't own one). However there are a few other EAP772 v2 firmware versions on the Tiwanese site. Maybe try 1.3.0 first on your EAP772 v2 then go up to 1.3.2 then 1.3.4?
Make sure you enable AFC to get the 6G band working as well.
IF 6G / AFC still isn't working on 1.3.4, perhaps @Vincent-TP or TP-Link Support can help?

Yeah.. if the EAP772-Outdoor is on 1.3.4 and AFC / 6G still isn't working, I'll have to defer to @Vincent-TP ! You might also want to try TP-Link Support. They are usually pretty quick to reply!

Hi @Javito
Thanks for the feedback.
This is related to the wireless regulations in your country. Mexico does not support AFC.
We need to comply with the wireless regulations of each region.

Ok i understand that, but EAP772 does have 6ghz enable, in fact iv been reading about it after ur post and Mexico does allow 6ghz for indoor use, iv been doing some research and the outdoor can use the 6ghz band if i set is as indoor use, but i haven't been able to find the option to do it in the Omada controller, only in standalone.
Actually i did find a guide on tplink website to do it in the controller, but im using the latest version with is 6.0, that manual has been done with 5.x for the looks of it, iv been trying to find the option but so far haven't been successful, would u care to please help me with this?

Hi @Javito
Thanks for the reply.
6G is allowed indoors, but not outdoors. We cannot bypass this restriction by changing the installation type for outdoor use.
This is the guide, but US version doesn't have that option.

Oh ic, so it's only the us version the one with that limitation, bummer... well answer me this, what is the point on having the outdoor version if it's handicapped to not be able to use the 6ghz band?
I'm asking because I bought them a few days ago from amazon so I can just return it which is what I'm think now after all this and just get another EAP772 instead of the outdoor version, unless u can tell me the outdoor has some advantage that the non outdoor doesn't have, cause this shouldn't be mandatory, tir should be the user choice if they want to enable it or not, most u should do on ur end would be to put a warning for the user and if the user decides to accept, that's their issue.
